When Will It End?

So, I notice my facebook feed has been stricken with the AI Pox again. American Idol Pox that is. I loathe this phenomenon. I loathe the judges. Don't judge me, I've given it a spin. . .it's just dumb. I'm sad that Ellen Degeneres has fallen into the AI trap. She's supposed to be judging now, right?

These attention whores are so sad. They want their 15 minutes of fame. That's it. They don't want to improve their talents, they want a record deal and money. When I think about musicians that have struggled their whole lives to get where they are, compared to these idiots, it infuriates me. They're not artists, they are fame whores.

My advice. . .turn the channel to the History Channel or something of the like, so you can actually learn something.

Needless to say I'm ready for the American Idol craze to be over.

  1. I will admit that I was sucked into the AI void between the second season through the last. Last season was my last and I will no longer continue to watch. I have moved on to much better programming.

  2. I must agree with you ... being attention whores and all ... but it makes for good entertainment. I will disagree with your comparison to artists that work their butts off just to have AI contestants waltz into fame ... there are only a couple of AI alumni that are actually memorable. Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood come to mind first. These are really talented girls who got a lucky break. I have kept up with a few others that were personal favorites, and they are doing the work. Just like Star Search alumni, they were winners on the show, but took them years before they really got the recognition they deserved.

On the other hand, I have always felt that AI picked only mediocre talent. With all of the people they audition, I find it hard to believe that the ones that make it to the final round are the best they could find. I wonder sometimes if their whole intent is to find a mediocre person and see if they can turn them into a star.

Anyway, im a fan. I love the show, and even if we disagree, I still love you too! :)

  3. I still love you too Alan! You and me and Patrick need to grab and drink and/or dinner sometime. . .I only met you guys like, twice, but I miss y'all!

I will agree that AI has seen some real talent, occasionally. . .like J-Hud. She's almost TOO good for AI!
